What are Terbinafine tablets?
Terbinafine tablets are a prescription antifungal treatment. They are used to treat fungal infections affecting skin, hair, and nails. They kill the infected fungi and stop their growth to promote healthy skin and nails.
Terbinafine hydrochloride is the active ingredient present in Terbinafine tablets. It is prescribed to treat many conditions, like fungal infection of the nails, including toenails and fingernails. You can use terbinafine tablets orally when the topical treatment is not effective, or the infection is severe or has spread.
How do Terbinafine tablets work?
Terbinafine hydrochloride works by directly acting on the fungal enzyme necessary for the growth of fungal cell membranes. It helps in the degradation of the fungal cell membrane, making it weakened and die. It kills the infection, along with stopping their growth.
