BV

Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an imbalance in vaginal bacteria. It causes symptoms such as a watery or greyish discharge and is often described as having a fishy smell. You may also experience itching and burning when passing urine. It is most commonly found to affect women of a childbearing age. If this is the first time you are experiencing symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, you should speak to your GP first to rule out any complications, thereafter if you experience the same symptoms, you can get the treatment you need directly from us.

To treat bacterial vaginosis you will be prescribed with an antibiotic called Metronidazole. This will help eradicate the bad bacteria restoring the natural environment. The antibiotic comes in 2 main forms namely a cream and tablets.

The cream or gel is applied directly to the vagina treating the symptoms at source. If this is unsuitable for you or you prefer oral medication, Metronidazole tablets are also available and equally effective. Fill in the short questionnaire to see what treatment will be most suitable for you. We will send out your medication promptly in discreet packaging so nobody else needs to know.
