Threadworms are remarkably common in children – the tell-tale sign is an itchy bottom, worse at night. A single dose of mebendazole treats the infection, and because eggs spread so easily around a household, the whole family should normally be treated together. Pair the tablets with two weeks of strict hygiene: short nails, morning showers and hot-washed bedding. Suitable for adults and children over two; ask us about younger children.
