Creams

 

Creams are the simplest starting point for external piles, soothing itching and soreness on contact. Many combine protective ingredients with a mild local anaesthetic for rapid relief; others include hydrocortisone to calm inflammation, which should be used for short courses only, as directed on the pack. Apply after washing and gently drying the area, and pair with a gentler bathroom routine while things settle.
